The Range Rover Velar has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating, making it one of the safest SUVs available in the market. However, it isn’t the only one to get this high rating; it joins the Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X1 to have this score.
Range Rover’s latest managed to score 93 percent for adult occupant protection, 85 percent for child occupant protection, 74 percent for pedestrian protection and 72 percent for assistance systems. Interestingly, when compared to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the British SUV beats the Italian SUV in the pedestrian and assistance categories by three and 12 percent, however the Alfa beats the Velar scoring 97 percent for adult occupant protection and 84 percent in child occupant protection. Moreover, the Velar managed to pass Audi Q5’s scores of 73 percent for pedestrian protection and 58 percent for assistance systems. The Range Rover managed the five star score for all its variants.
Land Rover in India is currently planning on launching the Range Rover Velar in the Indian market as a CBU.
