For buyers waiting to buy the newer version of the Octavia, the wait might not be very long. Skoda will be launching the model in dealerships across the country by the end of the year.
The basic design of the dashboard remains the same, though international cars feature a larger 9.2-inch touchscreen, Skoda’s Columbus infotainment system and a set of capacitive-touch buttons on the centre console. It is likely that the infotainment system in the car available in India will remain the same as its predecessor. The current engine line-up, which includes 1.4-litre and 1.8-litre turbo-petrols and a 2.0-litre diesel, is expected to be carried forward unchanged as well.
For buyers who are interested in purchasing the hotter vRS version of the Octavia as Skoda will finally release the Octavia vRS this Diwali, along with an updated suspension as part of the package. India, however, will be not be getting the more powerful Octavia vRS 245.
