Tata Motors revealed the latest version of its Prima race truck recently. The truck will take part in the fourth season of the illustrious T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship set to be held on Sunday, March 19, at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC), Greater Noida. This is the most powerful truck made in India till date, with 1040hp on tap.
The truck is similar to the ones that compete under the FIA in the United Kingdom and Europe. It makes twice the power as trucks that raced in season three of the race. This new engine is the result of the collaboration with diesel engine bigshot Cummins Inc.
The truck can reach from 0 to 160kph in just 10 seconds, backed by an all-new ZF 16-speed gearbox. The high-performance rotating parts are made of a special material that allows the truck to maintain speed under intense pressure that it will undergo on the racetrack. This season, renowned racers from FIA’s European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) compete in the championship for the very first time.
