Ducati’s middleweight naked motorcycle, the Monster 821 has been updated for 2018. The new 821 uses the headlight from the Monster 1200. Another big update is the colour TFT instrument cluster which gives the motorcycle an up-to-date feel. Interestingly, Ducati doesn’t equip the more expensive Multistrada 950 and SuperSport with this screen.
Other changes include a reworked slimmer tail section. The new Monster 821 can also be had in a shade of yellow, which pays tribute to the original 900.
In terms of performance, the bike continues to use the same 821cc V-twin engine. However, it now produces slightly less power and torque owing to the stringent Euro-4 emission rules. The new power and torque figures are 110hp and 86Nm. Helping the motorcycle stop are dual 320mm front discs and powerful Brembo M4.32 callipers. The Ducati Safety pack continues to offer three levels of ABS, eight levels of traction control and three riding modes.
Ducati is expected to launch this latest-spec Monster 821 shortly after its international sales commence.
