The car, which was first shown in concept form at the 2014 Geneva motor show, will be shown at the upcoming Frankfurt show. The company has now released teaser images of the T-Roc, it’s smallest SUV yet. The car will be officially revealed on August 23, 2017.
The T-Roc measures just 4,179mm in length, and is a good 200mm short than the Tiguan. The video that the company released shows the T-Roc has a robust and muscular design on the outside and funky, dual-tone colours on the interior. The car will come fitted with VW’s Active Info Display - essentially a virtual instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system.
The car will be built on the carmaker’s flexible MQB platform and is expected to get a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged common rail diesel engine. The engine will be mated to a six-speed, dual-clutch auto transmission. There may also be smaller 1.0-litre petrols and 1.6-litre diesels which will be offered on lower-spec cars.
