Hyundai recently announced that its New Verna sedan has received a total of 15,000 bookings since its launch in August. The new Verna is available in seven paint shade options and multiple engine and gearbox choices.
The sedan from Hyundai just received a price hike of around ₹29,000 due to the revision in GST cess. However, the Korean carmaker has stated that it will further increase the price once the booking figure crosses 20,000 units. Hyundai’s Verna can be onwed with either a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Interestingly, dealers in most of the major cities are claiming that the most popular variant is the diesel-engine automatic gearbox one.
From the seven paint shades on offer, silver, white and black are the most popular. Just like its previous generation model, the Verna takes on the Honda City, the Maruti Ciaz, the Volkswagen Vento and the Skoda Rapid.
