Volvo launched the S60 Polestar in India, priced at ₹52.5 lakh. This will be the first model to be released on Indian soil under its performance arm, Polestar. It was initially a company offering performance upgrades for all of Volvo's high-powered models until Volvo officially acquired it July 2015.
The S60 has a lot in common with the standard Volvo S60, but the performance version comes fitted with a lean 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine good for 367hp and 470Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kph. There are other changes made to speed up the car such as new camshafts, a larger air intake and a higher capacity fuel pump. The S60 is also considerably lighter thanks to the stiffer frame, almost 20kg in total. The car gets a new body kit with added aero elements, stiffened suspension and will run on 20-inch alloy wheels.
It will be available in three colours - Rebel Blue, Onyx Black and Ice White. The interiors will be furnished with nubuck leather upholstery, plus there are safety features like adaptive cruise control and a Polestar steering along with carbon fibre inserts across the cabin.
