The WR-V was the company’s sales topper for July. The car, which was launched five months ago, has helped double the carmaker’s share of the heated UV market for Q1 FY2018.
Honda sold 4,894 units of the WR-V in July, compared to 4,854 Citys. Cumulative monthly sales in July 2017 grew by a healthy 22 percent, and the company sold 17,085 units (July 2016: 14,033).
The crossover has seen constant demand, with 19,050 units sold until the end of July. The WR-V comes loaded with features, it’s sunroof being the most popular amongst buyers.
The surging demand for SUVs, coupled with the price reduction post GST, has aided demand for the WR-V. Honda anticipated this and increased supply to its dealers, aiding smooth delivery to customers.
Honda sold 55,647 units during the April- July 2017 period with a cumulative growth of over 21 percent (April-July 2016: 45,880).
