The Koenigsegg Agera RS is now the fastest production car in the world, after recording a two-way average speed of 447.2kph.

The company set the record at Pahrump, Nevada with Factory driver Niklas Lilja behind the wheel. The title was earlier held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which recorded a speed 431kph in 2010.

Koenigsegg also has the powerful Regera in its line-up, but it is yet to fully demonstrate its top speed.
