When it comes to the practicality of a vehicle, the estate body style cars are far ahead in this regard. Though these type of cars isn’t popular in India, they are quite a go-to vehicle in European countries. So, Volvo has unveiled its all-new V60 Cross Country, this vehicle will take on the Audi A4 Allroad.
On the outside, the V60 Cross Country comes with an increased ride height and plastic body cladding all around the lower section of the vehicle. Compared to the regular V60, this estate version gets 75 mm more ground clearance. Specially developed chassis and the suspension has helped to increase its ground clearance. This new V60 Cross Country is built on the Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform.
The vehicle comes with all-wheel drive, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Corner Traction Control and a special Off-Road driving mode as standard. As it is a Volvo, on the safety front it gets Pilot Assist System, Run-Off-Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation as standard and an extra feature which is optional is Cross Traffic Alert with Autobrake.
Presently, the new Volvo V60 Cross Country is offered with a T5 AWD petrol powertrain and a D4 AWD turbo-diesel. The mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of this vehicle will be available later on. With V90 and V40 Cross Country versions already available in India, the arrival of this mid-sized estate is still under covers.
