The final addition to its R8 supercar range will go on sale internationally soon. The Plus makes around 70hp and 20Nm more than the standard R8 Spyder V10. The engine under the hood puts out a total of 610hp and 560Nm of torque.
This version is also 25kg lighter, courtesy carbon fibre-reinforced plastics on its interior and exterior. Thanks to the increased power and decreased weight, the car sees a 0.3sec improvement to 100kph time and a 10kph increase in top speed. There’s carbon fibre trim across the exterior instead of the standard car's gloss black trim. The car’s trapezoidal exhausts are split into four separate pipes, in place of two larger, undivided pipes and there are standard bucket seats and ceramic brakes.
No further variants on the R8 will be added to the range, according to the company. The second-gen R8 is sold here only as the R8 V10 Plus Coupe but Audi might add drop-top models to its line-up at a later stage.
