Bookings for this updated bike have commenced at Suzuki dealerships and deliveries will take about a week or so.
The company will offer ABS in both the FI and carburetted models of the Gixxer SF in a new SP guise. The standard bike, however, will not have this immediately. The bike is fitted with a single-channel ABS unit, i.e. it uses only the front wheel.
The leaked brochure shows the bike with updated graphics, and featuring a three-tone colour scheme and a new SP logo. This new red, white and black SP graphic scheme will be used instead of the existing grey and black one.
Mechanically, the Gixxer SF remains unchanged – it’s powered by a 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled motor that puts out 14.8hp of peak power and 14Nm of peak torque (on both its fuel-injected and carburetted versions). Kerb weight will go up by a minor 1-2kg with the addition of ABS.
While we don’t have the exact price yet, dealers have confirmed that the ABS version will be approximately ₹7,000 over the standard bike – that means the carburetted Gixxer SF ABS could costs around ₹96,000 ex-showroom (ballpark), while the Gixxer SF FI ABS should cost around ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
