The convertible iteration of its two-seater sports car will be shown at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show 2017. The Corvette ZR1 convertible will go on sale internationally in April 2018.
The only structural changes are the folding top and repositioned safety belt mounts, according to the carmaker. The car weighs 27kg more than the ZR1 Coupe thanks to the roof, which can be operated while at speeds of up to 48kph.
The car uses the same 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that makes a massive 765hp and 969Nm. The car comes with a ZTK Performance Package, which includes an adjustable rear spoiler, front splitter and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The coupe can hit a claimed top speed of 341kph.
Chevrolet will offer the car with the option of a seven-speed manual transmission and an eight-speed automatic.
