The Redigo hatch, with a 1.0-litre engine, is priced at Rs 3.57 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Under the hood sits a 999cc, three-cylinder engine that puts out 68hp at 5,500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. This motor is shared with Renault’s Kwid but it’s available only with a five-speed manual gearbox. An optional AMT transmission might make its way into the line-up in the future.
Apart from the 1.0 badging, this car is identical to its smaller-engined counterpart – there’s an all-black theme in the cabin, central locking with keyless entry, a lock/unlock button on the central consol, front power windows, driver-side airbag, and the standard audio system, albeit without Bluetooth connectivity.
For now, the car is available a single variant, and will go up against Maruti’s Suzuki Alto K10, Renault’s Kwid 1.0 and Hyundai’s Eon.
