The Italian marque, Ferrari launches the Portofino in India. This car is named after a coastal Italian town, Portofino. The Portofino replaces the most affordable Ferrari, the California T. This convertible is an entry-level car from Ferrari and is priced at Rs. 3.5 crore (ex-showroom, India)
The design of the Portofino is quite subtle and is not as aggressive as other Ferraris. The boomerang-shaped LED headlights along with carbon side skirt give the Portofino a very sporty appeal. However, twin tail lamps, quad exhaust pipes and a contoured boot lid give a belligerent look to the rear.
On the inside, there is a large 10.2-inch touchscreen along with a separate screen for side passenger. The infotainment system gets Apple CarPlay. The seats are wrapped with finest leather and Alcantara. The front seats are 18-way electrically adjustable. The rear of the front seats is scooped out to increase the legroom on the rear and due to which four adults can sit comfortably in the car.
The redesigned chassis is 80 kg lighter and 35 percent stiffer. This car comes equipped with an improved electro-mechanical steering which has reduced the steering ratio by 7 percent. The Ferrari Portofino is powered by 3.9-litre twin turbo V8 engine that churns out 600 BHP and 760 Nm of torque. The top speed rated on the car is 320 km/hr and 0-100 km/hr sprint just takes 3.5 seconds.
