The Genesis G70 is built on the same platform as the Kia Stinger and the carmaker will first launch the car in South Korea. Details of the cars that will hit markets like North America, Russia, and the Middle East will be revealed next year.
There will be three engines on offer – a 3.3-litre, twin-turbo V6 making 370hp and 510Nm, a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder petrol making 258hp and 353Nm and a 2.2-litre, inline-four diesel producing 204hp and 440Nm. The company claims the top-spec car can hit 100kph in a quick 4.7sec.
The G70 also offers Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning and Driver Awareness Warning. On the inside, there’s an 8.0-inch touchscreen that supports MirrorLink, Apple Car Play and Android Auto as well.
The Genesis G70 will be on display at the LA auto show in December. The carmaker may be evaluating bringing the Genesis brand to India, but there is no official word just yet.
