The company has announced that it will be launching its Leoncino, its neo-retro naked motorcycle, in India in the month of February 2018. The bike is currently undergoing endurance testing for ARAI certification, which is set to complete by January 2018. The bike will be brought in here as a CKD and locally assembled. Expect it to be priced around the ₹5 lakh mark (ex-showroom, Delhi). The off-road worthy variant of the Leoncino won’t be making it here for now, but this decision will be based on demand once the bike is launched here.
The Leoncino is fitted with a 499.6cc, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, parallel-twin that makes 49.6hp and 45Nm, and is paired to a six-speed gearbox. Following the launch of the Leoncino, DSK Benelli will launch the TRK 502 as well.
The Imperiale 400, which was showcased at EICMA 2017, is Benelli’s Royal Enfield challenger and will make its way here by mid-2018.
