Jeep is ready to unveil its new India-spec Compass SUV on April 12. The car will be powered by a choice of a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel and a 1.4-litre Multiair petrol engine, which will be locally assembled. The carmaker is introducing a range of India-specific models, which will include a petrol, a diesel, an automatic and a 4x4 drivetrain.
The car will be powered by a Multijet 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that makes 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The motor is paired to an automatic gearbox that’s a nine-speed unit. The petrol Compass will have a 1.4-litre Multiair engine that puts out 140hp under the hood. The Indian version will also have a tweaked interior, as compared to its global counterparts. The cabin in this car will sport a metal-finished look, along with new dual-tone upholstery. Other variants for India might also offer leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. The Compass will be priced between ₹18 and 25 lakh.
