German sportscar maker, Porsche has launched sporty version of the 911, the GT3 at ₹2.31 crore (ex-showroom, India). The GT3 uses a high revving naturally aspirated engine like the one found in the hardcore GT3 RS. While every other 911 model is turbo charged.

The GT3 is a track-focused version of the 911 with some features that can make it be used on a day-to-day basis. The car is not as hardcore as Porsche’s GT3 RS or the upcoming GT2 and it has a good reason for it, its everyday usability. Powering the GT3 is a 4.0-litre flat-six engine that makes 500hp and 460Nm of peak torque. The new Porsche can be had with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Unlike the 911 Turbo and other 911 models, the GT3 is only rear-wheel drive.

The GT3 uses a unique front and rear bumper design, intake scoops on the engine cover, a huge rear wing and carbon-fibre for the bonnet and wings to reduce overall weight. The optional Club Sport package includes a roll cage, six-point racing harness and other features to make it track-ready. The car can also be optioned with bucket seats that are made out of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CRPF). Porsche Communication Management infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay comes as standard.

The only rival for the 911 GT3 in the Indian market is the similarly priced Mercedes-AMG GT R.
