The facelifted version of its flagship SUV will now be sold in China with a few design-based changes and more equipment. A lot of external changes are at the front – there’s a new chrome-finished grille with more slats, framed by vertical intakes and the centre of the front bumper is now finished in chrome.
There are minor changes all around the car apart from these. On the inside, there’s an updated infotainment system and wireless charging for smartphones, along with heated seats as an optional extra. The China-spec Pajero is powered by the same 174hp/255Nm, 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine.
In India, Mitsubishi brought the latest-gen Pajero here as the Montero in 2016 but discontinued it. It was powered by a 3.2-litre, direct-injection diesel engine which makes 192hp and 441Nm.
