Volvo India will soon be launching a performance variant of the S60 Polestar in India. There has been much speculation surrounding the company's performance arm, Polestar and this is all we know about it so far. The standard S60 has been updated and modified to pack a punch. The Volvo S60 Polestar will be made available only on the range-topping T6 trim.
Apart from the Polestar models, Volvo may also be looking to introduce its line-up of estates in India, with the first model expected to be the S90’s sibling, the V90, albeit it will be the cross-country version that makes a solid 235hp 2.0-litre from its D5 diesel engine.
The S60 Polestar will feature a 2.0-litre supercharged gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The motor generates 362bhp of power at 6,000rpm, as well as 470Nm of torque from 3,100 to 5,100rpm.
The Polestar can accelerate to 100kph from a standstill in 4.7 seconds. The overall look of the car is much sportier, with bigger 20-inch Polestar alloy wheels, a bigger turbocharged, stiffer suspension and a more aggressive body kit. The interiors have been fitted with a host of new features such as the new infotainment system and wireless connectivity services. The changes to the look and feel on the inside include nubuck leather upholstery and carbon fibre trim inserts in place of the standard model’s wood and aluminium inserts.
